We cultivate the perspective of solving the problems of modern society while searching for ways to read and understand history.

The Department of History has prepared a curriculum along the two axes of “courses” and “programs” in order to support students’ learning and future paths. We clearly show paths forward by combining the four research fields (courses: Japanese history; foreign history; archeology; and regional cultures and landscapes) with the two career plans (programs: general corporate or government official; and graduate studies, teaching, or curating).
