Projects and Centers Managed by the Organization in the Past

This Organization expansively inherited and developed the “Establishment of a National Learning Institute for the Dissemination of Research on Shinto and Japanese Culture” project that was started as a part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology 21st Century COE Program, which was promoted between FY2002 and FY2006.

Traditional Culture Research Center

This Organization once presided over the Traditional Culture Research Center, which was established as an institution meant to promote a project the “Learning and Practice of Traditions Developed from the Study of Physical and Spiritual Objects,” which was a project selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Open Research Center initiative, that was itself promoted between FY2007 and FY 2011.
 The Traditional Culture Research Center Museum was established in FY2008 to display the results of that project. This Museum was renamed the “Kokugakuin University Museum” in April, 2013. It currently promotes the various academic resources of Kokugakuin University, as well as the results of research on these resources, centering on the collections of the University History and Academic Asset Research Center and Kokugakuin Academic Resource Center.

Curatorial Education and Research Information Center

This Organization once presided over the Curatorial Education and Research Information Center, which was established to promote the Advanced Curatorial Education Program, itself based on the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Program for the Promotion of Organizational Reform at Graduate Universities, which was carried out from FY2009 to FY2011. That program, was expansively inherited and developed into the Kokugakuin University Museum Museology Course in FY2012.
